DYNAMIC PERFORMANCE OPTIMIZATION OF SHUNT ACTIVE POWER FILTER TO ELIMINATE TOTAL HARMONIC DISTORTION

In this paper, a proposed efficient solution for an important power quality problem focused on harmonic distortion in the source current is introduced by using Shunt Active Power Filter (SAPF) controlled sinusoidal control strategy which based instantaneous active and reactive theory (Sinusoidal PQ-theory). As part of controller, there PI-Controller enhances APF controller performance when tuning its proportional integral gains. The gains are optimized article effective metaheuristic optimization algorithm known as Mayfly Optimization Algorithm (MOA), effectiveness clear compared with other algorithms such Particle Swarm (PSO), Artificial Hummingbird (AHA) Archimedes (AOA). evaluated under load variation distorted voltage conditions. results obtained MATLAB/SIMULINK prove ability MOA to get optimal lead enhancement reduce total drawing minimum acceptable values according (IEEE-519) harmonics standard.
